Here's what our members are saying about JCC's Dealer Candidate® Course:

"I found the Dealer Candidate® Course very well rounded. It gave me insights into all areas of my dealership and interaction with other students provided me the opportunities to compare my situation with theirs. Because it was ongoing over three years, I was able to note my progress working on things I had learned through the different modules. I would recommend this course to anyone involved in the management of a dealership" M. Walker - Catons Ltd.

"The Dealer Candidate® Course challenged me to ask why: Why are we doing the things we are? Why are we getting the results, both good and bad?" V. Shank - Martin Equipment

Service Technician Skills/Knowledge Test

About the Test

This on-line test is designed to recognize the high performing technicians in your dealership. Canada West believes that having technicians that are certified under this program gives your dealership an advantage in attracting customers for service and repair jobs. The test is most beneficial as an excellent tool for evaluating prospective technicians during the hiring process.  Most importantly, we hope this accredited test will bring a sense of pride to each technician who receives certified technician status.

How Does It Work?
Simply contact the Canada West office! We require the technician's name and your email so we can email you the username and access code for the technician to take the on-line test.

The technician will have a maximum of two hours to complete the test.  The test results are administered by Canada West with results being provided to the dealer principal.

Each participating technician who achieves a mark of 75% or higher will receive recognition as a Canada West Certified Technician.

We encourage you to take advantage of this service!

To register your technicians for this online test, contact Cathy Pelletier at cpelletier@cweda.ca or Joanne Wiebe at jwiebe@cweda.ca or phone the Canada West office at 1-800-661-2452.

This on-line test was developed with the cooperation of the Ohio State University, Kelsey/SIAST and the North American Equipment Dealers Association.

Convention

Canada West Equipment Dealer’s Association holds an annual convention for our members across Western Canada. The convention serves a variety of purposes. The annual general meeting, a meeting of the board of directors, recognition ceremonies for outstanding dealerships and discussions about important issues facing the industry are all held during convention. Each year, many of our members choose to  attend and often bring other key employees (e.g. service managers) with them.

The convention program includes dealer workshops, speakers, entertainment, special events for non-dealers and plenty of time for meeting new people and catching up with old acquaintances. Convention topics include market trends, global economics, management techniques, business succession planning, new technology, distribution changes, legislation, and consumer preferences.  Each convention focuses on the current issues and what is important to today's dealers.  The 2012 convention will focus on Training for Parts Management.  We encourage you to bring your Parts Personnel.
