The
Canada Equipment Dealers Foundation (CEDF) was founded in 1998,
after recognizing a shortage of properly trained dealership
employees. The Canada West Equipment Dealers Association
established the CEDF to provide educational programs and services
for agricultural, industrial and outdoor power equipment dealers
across Canada.
The CEDF is
operated by a group of volunteer dealers and association staff who
coordinate the foundation's activities. A Board of Directors
that are appointed by the Canada West Equipment Dealers Association
(CWEDA) and the Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association (CEEDA),
governs the CEDF.
The purpose of the CEDF is:
-
To
create educational programs for dealers and their employees
-
To
establish scholarship programs at post secondary educational
institutions
-
For
public awareness campaigns to promote the industry to the
general public
-
To
conduct research on related topics within the industry
Since its
inception, we have raised over $500,000 in pledges and commitments
for dealership specific educational programs and scholarships.
The CEDF is a registered charitable foundation
established under Revenue Canada guidelines and policy. As such,
all donations to the CEDF are eligible to receive a receipt for income tax
purposes. All funds that are raised in western Canada are allocated for the
benefit of western Canadian equipment dealers.
Fundraising Events:
Canada West Equipment Dealers Association holds four
annual golf tournaments to raise
funds for the Canada Equipment Dealers Foundation (CEDF). Additional fundraisers for the CEDF are held at
CWEDA's annual convention.
The Private Label
Program
The Private Label Program allows for the creation
of a scholarship endowment under your dealership name at a
post-secondary educational institution for a dealership rated program.
All donations will be matched by the CEDF. The sponsoring dealer can
direct the funds toward a post secondary educational institution and
dealership related program of their choice.
This program is intended to take advantage of
matching funds that are available from provincial governments and
college foundations. It is a great way to recognize a dealership or a
long-term dealer principal. Minimum contribution is $5000.
Life Insurance Program
In partnership with Federated Insurance of Canada, a Life Insurance
Program has been established which allows the policyholder to designate
the CEDF as a beneficiary. The policyholder determines the amount of
the policy and pays the premium on an annual basis. This program is
designed to provide the foundation with a long-term funding source.
Annual Donation
The CEDF accepts annual donations in all
denominations. These donations will be used as matching funds for other
donation programs or for general operating expenses of the CEDF.
